實驗室簡介
        本實驗室主要探討界面技術之應用,如活性碳之吸附、光觸媒對汙染物之降解、新穎磁性材料之合成與應用及農業廢棄物之資源化及應用等。本實驗室位於東海大學理學院環境工程學系一樓S104室,目前共計有碩士班學生共5位,大學部專題生10位。本研究室基於污染預防理念,結合多種界面處理技術並針對相關特性廢污水中有機物之去除和廢棄物資源化技術,進行相關研究,近年來主要的研究方向如下: 本研究室之研究領域,約略分為三個主題,分別為「環境磁性材料之合成與應用研究」、「高級處理於環境污染物控制及資源再利用技術之研發」及「生質廢棄物資源化」,分別說明如下。

環境磁性材料之合成與應用研究 
        磁性材料因具誘導磁性,可以磁場高度控制並克服傳統奈米顆粒之分離問題,因此具有學術上研究之潛力與研發為套裝處理程序之潛能。磁性奈米複合材料除具有奈米顆粒本身之優點(如:高外部表面積、高表面活性、與高質量傳送效率)亦具有可高度控制之優點。
        本實驗室目前已成功合成具化學穩定性之磁性奈米複合材料,如鋁系超順磁性奈米複合材料(見代表作)、鋯系超順磁性奈米複合材料(國內研討會優秀論文獎且已有具體成果發表國際學術會議論文)、磁性矽鋁酸鹽複合材料(已有具體成果發表國際學術會議論文)、二氧化鈦超順磁性奈米複合材料(已有具體成果發表國內學術會議論文)等。

高級處理於環境污染物控制及資源再利用技術之研發
        此項研究之主軸乃利用高級程序處理水相系統中之有機及無機污染物,以達到環境污染物控制及水資源再利用之標的。採用之程序主要為吸附/離子交換、光催化反應、臭氧或臭氧/紫外線與Fenton法等,針對水環境中之有機及無機污染物進行降解礦化或濃縮去除,對象包含一般工業廢水、電鍍廢液、從濕式洗滌塔所得較單純之高科技半導體產業氟系廢水、地下水等。高級處理相對於其他初級及二級處理而言,處理費用較為昂貴,為有效降低處理成本,如何提升程序處理效率乃是一大研究課題。 
        本實驗室將HGRPB應用於環境污染物之去除,預期可縮小反應體積或增加生產力(即降低投資成本與提高報酬率),然而該新穎反應器於環境污染物(尤其是新興污染物之處理)之研究卻少見,目前研究即針對HGRPB對環境污染物之去除與其質量傳送機制作更深入的探討。 

生質廢棄物資源化之研究 
        選用國內主要農業廢棄物如玉米穗軸、稻軸、榨完油或未炸之種子等前驅物,利用管狀爐及電漿高溫爐轉化成有用吸波材之焦炭、油品或吸附劑之活性炭,以達到生質廢棄物回收及資源化再利用之目的,以符合建立資源永續利用社會之期許。 
目前本實驗室以管狀高溫爐將農業廢棄物玉米穗軸及稻桿轉化成有用之活性炭。研究方法包括使用化學活化法、物理活化法及相關之動力學參數探討與所得吸附劑於環境污染物去除之應用,其所得之活性炭產物具有可與商用活性炭媲美之高比表面積及吸附容量,目前已有具體成果發表國際期刊論文與學術會議論文。
        另一方面則為建立中之系統為使用高週波電漿系統,目前進行之研究乃藉著改變電漿之輸出壓力、功率、能量密度、氣體溫度等確保高品質氣體產物,並嘗試結合不同方式後續將殘餘之固體資源化作為微波吸收劑之焦炭或環境污染物吸附劑之活性炭,研究結果可提供一套生質廢棄物資源化所需之系統及設計參數與相關參考資料。
